Oliver is officially two and a half…worth and update to document in the midst of these busy busy days…
Oliver had his 2 1/2 year check up a few weeks ago. His stats are:
Height 36 inches (46%)
Weight 29 pounds (46%)
He has grown a lot since August when he was in 52% for height and 22% for weight. Big brother Stratton was usually in 50% for height and weight around age 2 and 3 so the hand me downs are starting to fit just right :) You are showing interest in the potty and try every now and again. Potty training will come soon enough!
Oliver, you sure did give mom a run for her money for the past 6 months…you have a determined will, big voice, sense of adventure and want to keep up with the big kids! This package added with some fuzzy articulation of words made for some tough moments for both of us. But all through it you were growing and learning and still giving some hugs too :) Thank goodness for those!
I am so happy to say that I think we are officially over the "terrible two" stage and you are shining like a star. Your words are coming along which helps us so much to understand what you want and need and you have a very funny sense of humor! You are tough and don't complain too much but you still have that big voice and sense for adventure (and mischief!)...
The oh so famous Eucerin incident….Oliver, I asked you to please go get a pair of pajamas…I found you upstairs rubbing your cheeks like this (thats a half tub of super thick lotion on your face)…
and when I grabbed my camera, you started to pose for the photo ;)
When Stratton saw you, he couldn't help but grab a little bit of moisturizer too. Classic.
Oliver, you play well with your brother and sister and need to be part of the party.
You keep up very well.
You have especially taken to your friendship with Stratton. You two are playing together more than ever. Stratton is sensitive to what you need and looks out for you.
You sit at the big table, in a big chair and use all the grown up plates and cups! In the morning you ask for a big cup of "jue" (Juice) and ask that it be filled "high"). You like to drink it in a sippy cup while you watch "KiKi" (The Fresh Beat Band).
Your smile is so sweet!!! When you say "cheese" you squint your eyes as tight as you can
Those eyes…and those sneaky little fingers…Here you are indulging in a little chocolate at breakfast…Caught Ya! ;)
You are "all boy" as they say. You are always up for going outside, wearing your boots, splashing in puddles, walking in mud. You like throwing balls and sticks. You love dogs and animals. You can ride a three wheeled scooter, shoot a basket, and toss a baseball. You love to shovel and dig.
You have such an active imagination. Toys have never really been your thing. Instead, you like to imagine you are putting out a fire with a stick or shooting a "roar" (lion) with an imaginary gun. You are often running around the house on a mission making sound effects. It is really fun to play with you and watch you make believe.
You are a sweet boy Oliver. You have so much confidence and drive for a little guy and we are excited to watch you grow and learn. We LOVE you!
